There are not many Italian Poker players who belong to the top-ranked around the world. That does not mean there are no great Italian Poker players. The reason behind this is that there are a few players who had taken up the game before the global boom. The World Series of Poker helped the Italians to achieve global recognition. There are players who made waves in other countries but have Italian roots.
Max Pescatori
Known as “The Italian Pirate,” Max Pescatori is one of the Italian tournament beasts. He has a total live earnings of more than $4.5 million. He is third in place among the Italian Poker players when it comes to cash-ins. He proved he was a force nobody should ignore when he won four WSOP gold bracelets. These are from four different Poker variants. Pescatori has an amazing 73 WSOP cash-ins and two WSOP circuit gold rings.
Dario Sammartino
He is one of the most successful Italian Poker players. Dario Sammartino earned almost $7.3 million in career cash-ins. His first major tournament was the Royal Poker Tour Red Sea €1,100 Main Event in May 2008. He gained eight-place and won €3,800. Sammartino grinded out a lot of four- and five-digit cash-ins. His first six-figure score came in EPT Monte Carlo Grand Final €100,000 Super High Roller. He finished in fourth place winning €709,500. Another six-digit cash in came after a few days in his EPT Monte Carlo Grand Final €25,500 High Roller. He got €257,400 when he took the sixth place. Cashing in 26 different World Series of Poker Events impressed a lot of audiences. He has not won a WSOP gold bracelet yet. His biggest cash in was during one of the WSOP Events. He landed on the third spot winning $1,608,295.
Mustapha Kanit
He is the most elite Poker player from Italy. Online PKV Games players know him as “lasagnaaammm.” Kanit is on top of The Hendon Mob Italy All Time Money List. His total live earnings of almost $11 million is outstanding. His first big live Poker tournament cash-in was during the Malta Poker Dream €1,100 Main Event. He got €53,500 when he won second place. Kanit received his first of many six-figure cash-ins when he won the IPT Nova Gorica €2,200 Main Event. It was a grand €200,000. He also took home two seven-figure winnings. One was when he won the EPT Monte Carlo Grand Final €50,000 Super High Roller where he got €936,500. The other one was a year later. He finished runner-up in the EPT Monte Carlo Grand Final €100,000 Super High Roller and received $1,653,491. One of his biggest cash-ins was in the partypoker MILLIONS Germany €51,000 Super High Roller. He took €500,000 when he finished in second place. Everyone is waiting for him to appear at the World Series of Poker.
